Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports the arrest of a Napoleonville man for shooting his son.
On Friday, September 12, 2008, at approximately 6:25PM, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 609 St. Mary Street in Napoleonville. Upon arrival they spoke with Clarence Terry Jr (67yoa) who requested that his son, Clarence Terry III (40yoa), be removed from the residence because he was causing trouble. The younger Terry complied and was instructed not to return.
Approximately five minutes later, deputies responded to the area of Assumption Street in Napoleonville concerning a shooting. Upon arrival deputies discovered Clarence Terry III lying in the roadway, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right hand. Terry indicated that his father shot him when he returned to the residence to pick up some personal papers.
The shooting victim was subsequently transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance Service.
Clarence Terry Jr. was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Second Degree Battery.
