Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling - Wednesday, January 30, 2019

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Charles Richard, 27, of 300 College Street, Napoleonville, LA, on charges related to a residential burglary on LA 308 near Plattenville on December 17, 2018.

On the aforementioned date, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential burglary in which electronics, jewelry and other items were stolen.  At the time, the residents were asleep and forced entry was made into the home.

As a result of continued investigation, most of the stolen items were recovered.  A firearm from an unrelated burglary was also recovered.

Detectives were able to identify a total of 5 suspects.  Three adults and 1 juvenile were arrested shortly after the burglary.  Charles Richard remained at large until his arrest on Monday.

Richard was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

            *Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

            *Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile

            *Simple Criminal Damage to Property

            *Failure to Appear – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 1 Drugs

            *Failure to Appear – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 1 and II Drugs

Richard remains incarcerated in lieu of bond in the amounts of $45,000 surety and $400 cash.
