Series of vehicle burglaries in Paincourtville - Wednesday, June 17, 2009
Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on the morning of Tuesday, June 16th, APSO deputies were called to the area of Hwy 1005 and Apollo Street in Paincourtville concerning several vehicle burglaries. In each case, unlocked vehicles were entered and various items belonging to the owners were taken. The stolen items included a laptop computer, an X Box console, a GPS and a digital camera. A total of ten vehicles were entered at eight separate residences on Apollo Street and Hwy 1005.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and collected various pieces of potential evidence, including several latent fingerprint impressions.

In February of this year, a similar series of vehicle burglaries occurred in the same area and remains under investigation.

A five hundred dollar reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the burglaries. Anyone with information can contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 985-526-1627 or the Communications Division at 985-369-2912.
