Stolen Property Recovered From Thibodaux Storage Unit - Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Thursday, September 10, 2009, Assumption Parish Detectives executed a search warrant at 2635 Hwy 1010 in Labadieville in an attempt to recover several items reported stolen from a local farmer. During the search investigators recovered an acetylene torch and hoses belonging to the victim at location which is the residence of Jayson Duet 28 years of age.

Detectives later received information that additional stolen property was being stored at Duet's storage unit on Tiger Drive in Thibodaux. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office was contacted and agreed to assist with the investigation.

On Friday, September 11, 2009, Assumption and Lafourche detectives executed a search warrant at the storage unit and recovered the remainder of the stolen property including one oxygen bottle, one acetylene bottle, an air conditioner, and an outboard motor.

As a result of the investigation Jayson Duet was arrested and charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Things valued over $500 and one count of Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.

Duet's accomplice, Dusty Falcon 27yoa of 461 Hwy 400 in Napoleonville, was also arrested and charged with one count of Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and one count of Simple Burglary in connection with the investigation.

Both subjects are currently being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Bonds will be set by a District Judge.
