On Monday, January 25, 2010, Blaine Scully, Jr., age 17 (dob 7/22/92), of 122 Cypress Street, Pierre Part, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Public School Property and Possession of Firearm by Student on School Property or Firearm-Free Zone. This arrest occurred after an Assumption High School Official and Assumption Parish Sheriff's School Resource Officer observed a student walking in a breeze-way behind the gymnasium of the school with a clear water bottle containing a redish-brown liquid. The student was asked about the bottle and a School Official noticed that the bottle smelled like an alcoholic beverage. Upon subsequent investigation, a school official searched his vehicle parked in the High School parking lot and located a loaded 22 caliber pistol under the driver's side front seat. Sgt. Byron Parker then retrieved the weapon and unloaded the weapon making it safe and turned it over to Criminal Investigative Division and tagged as evidence. The student later explained that he got the whiskey from a friend's house and his intended to use the pistol to go hunting after school.
