Arrests - Labadieville Armed Robbery Investigation - Wednesday, January 27, 2010
Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports the arrests of four adults and two juveniles in connection with the investigation of an armed robbery that occurred on December 29, 2009, in the 100 block of Ash Street in Labadieville. The male victim reported that at approximately 9:27PM, he was bringing his garbage to the road when he was accosted by five black males wearing dark clothing and brandishing handguns. The suspects forced the man back into his residence and held him at gunpoint while they ransacked the interior. Shortly thereafter the suspects fled in an unknown direction. The victim reported that a large sheet of one dollar bills was taken during the incident.

The adults arrested are as follows:

The adult suspects were charged with Armed Robbery and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. Bonds will be set by District Court.

The two juvenile males are ages 15 and 16 and are also from the Labadieville area. Both juvenile suspects were charged with Armed Robbery and placed in St. James Youth Detention Center.

Detectives are also investigating information which implicates three of the aforementioned suspects in an armed robbery that occurred on January 5th near the intersection of Convent Street and Cypress Street in Labadieville. The two teenage male victims reported that at approximately 8:50PM, they were walking on Covent Street near St. Philomena Church when they were approached by three black male subjects wearing dark clothing and hooded jackets. Two of the suspects produced handguns and ordered the victims to give them money. The boys complied and surrendered a cell phone. The three suspects then fled toward the church.
