On Monday, April 26, 2010 at
around 4:40pm deputies were dispatched to the area of 213 Violet Street in Labadieville in reference to a fight between two females that was in progress. While deputies were in route, a second call was received with respect to two male subjects with guns and shots being fired. One male subject was seen fleeing the area with a gun upon the deputy's arrival. Once deputies and a detective arrived on the scene, it was learned that the two subjects involved were Wallace Washington, 60 years of age who resides at 213 Violet Street and his nephew, Ricky Washington, 20 years of age who resides at 205 Violet Street. The two male subjects had an exchange of words due to an earlier altercation between Wallace Washington's wife and Ricky Washington's mother. Ricky Washington had fled the scene but later turned himself into the authorities. Both male subjects were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Illegal Discharge of a Weapon and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Both Weapons were also recovered and seized by the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office. As of the time of this release, no bonds have been set.
