Paincourtville Man Arrested After Attacking a Belle Rose Business Owner and a Responding Deputy.

On May 24, 2010 at 9:20 AM, The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office received a
911 call in reference to an employee of Assumption Paint and Body being held
against his will by someone in possession of a firearm.
Upon arriving at the Belle Rose business, a deputy observed the suspect, Tyrone
Fair Sr., fleeing toward his vehicle. As the deputy attempted to take Fair into
custody, he began resisting violently, and made several attempts to disarm the
deputy of his handgun. Employees intervened and assisted the deputy with
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Fair confronted the
owner of Belle Rose Paint and Body, and told him he had a gun and forced him
into his office. Once inside the office, Fair struck the owner and demanded
money. After receiving the money from the owner, Fair exited the business. As
he was attempting to flee he was stopped by the responding deputy and the
violent struggle ensued.
A 40cal semiautomatic handgun reported as stolen from the Baton Rouge area was
recovered from Fair's vehicle. Fair was subsequently transported to the
Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was booked with the following
First Degree Robbery
Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer
Resisting an Officer (Violently)
Bond to be set a District Judge.
