Arrests Made in Several Bike Thefts - Friday, November 5, 2010

During the month of October, the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office received several complaints concerning bicycle thefts in the Belle River area. Upon investigation, several juveniles were identified as suspects. On October 27, 2010, investigators arrested four juveniles three who were charged with theft and criminal damage to property and a fourth was charged with theft in a separate incident. Also arrested were two adults Brandon Mayon, age 21 and Caressa Mayon, age 19 of 101 Cypress Street who were charged with Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Investigators learned that the juvenile suspects brought several of the stolen bikes to the Mayon's residence during a Bon Fire and the Adult suspects who had knowledge that they were stolen told them to go get two more. Some of the bikes were brought back into the residence where they were stripped and painted. Eight of the stolen bikes were recovered from behind a nearby pond. Both of the adult subjects were released upon posting a $15,000 Bond.
