During December 2010, a resident in the 4500 Block of Highway 308, Napoleonville reported the theft of several rolls of copper wire and welding leads located in a large shed behind the residence. Detectives installed surveillance equipment near the area of where additional copper wire was stored and later caught a male subject on surveillance last week. Detectives identified the male subject as Russell Jupiter, age 42 of 3394 Highway 1, Napoleonville. Jupiter was brought in for questioning and admitted to 2 burglaries and stated that he sold the stolen copper to a scrap yard in Houma.
Russell Jupiter was arrested on a judicial warrant for 2 counts of Simple Burglary late last week. His bond was set at $10,000 and he is still incarcerated at the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
