Recent Car Burglaries - Sheriff Warns Residents - Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Within the last two days, the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office has received several reports of car burglaries in the Labadieville Area. Residents from Cindy Street, Cody Street and Cherry Street and Oak Street woke up and noticed that the inside of their vehicles had been searched. Included in the reported stolen items were 2 handguns and electronic devices. All of these vehicles were reported to be unlocked. We are asking residents to please secure there vehicles and to report to us any suspicious persons or activities observed in your neighborhood.

Detectives are currently investigating these burglaries and processing potential evidence but do not have any named suspects at this time. If you have any information, please contact the Assumption Parish Criminal Investigative Division at 985-526-1627 or Communications Division at 985-369-2912. You may be entitled to a REWARD if the information you provide leads to an arrest.
