Paincourtville Man Arrested For Armed Robbery. - Friday, April 15, 2011

Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Thursday, April 14, 2011, APSO Detectives arrested Philip Craig 18yoa of 110 Sugar Street in Paincourtville for his part in an armed robbery that occurred on March 29th at the Spur 70 One Stop store in Plattenville. (See attached previously issued press release sent on March 30, 2011 which covered the details of the reported Armed Robbery.)

Detectives were first alerted to Craig's possible involvement by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, DNA Section, after a search of the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database listed him at a possible donor of blood stain collected during the crime scene investigation.

Upon receiving the information, detectives obtained a search warrant for Craig's person and his residence. Craig was subsequently questioned and confessed to being involved in the robbery.
 
Supsect has been charged with one count of Armed Robbery and his Bond has not been set as of the time of this release. He is incarcerated at the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
The investigation into this matter continues. Additional arrests are imminent.
