A search warrant was obtained by Assumption Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force with the assistance of Louisiana State Police Narcotics Agents after receiving information concerning of a pre-scheduled delivery from a package delivery company to a residence located at 3007 Lee Drive, Pierre Part, Louisiana. This package was expected to contain a shipment of Liquid Codeine. Narcotics Agents intercepted the package as it was delivered around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. The package contained 6-8 ounce bottles and 2-16 ounce bottles of liquid codeine. Agents then set up to wait for the person who was coming to pick up the package and the suspect was taken into custody around 3:00 p.m. Thursday. The suspect was a niece to the homeowner and she was using his residence as a package drop location.
Nicole Blanchard, age 23, of 3549 Highway 316, Gray, Louisiana, was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substances (Liquid Codeine). She is currently being held in the Assumption Parish Detention Center. A Bond has not been set as of the time of this release.
This investigation is ongoing and further arrests may be made at later date.
