Bayou L'Ourse Man Arrested For Burglaries - Friday, July 15, 2011

On July 14, 2011, Detectives with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at the address of 231 Vivian Street in Bayou L'Ourse to follow up on tips received in reference to a wanted person possibly at the residence. Detectives surrounded the residence and later took three subjects into custody.

A wanted subject Randy Lee, age 26 of 105 Faith Street, Bayou L'Ourse was arrested on warrants for 2 counts of Simple Burglary and 1 count of Attempted Simple Burglary as a result of investigations of recent burglaries in the Bayou L'Ourse Community.

While entering the residence, Detectives noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Upon further investigation, it was learned that 2 occupants of the residence had active warrants and were taken into custody. Permission to search the residence was granted and detectives located several items of drug paraphernalia, several containers of synthetic marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun. Steven Blanchard, age 27 of 105 Faith Street, Bayou L'Ourse was arrested on an outstanding warrants for failure to appear for Criminal Damage to Property, Disturbing the Peace, and Criminal Neglect of Family. Marie Franklin, age 23 of 231 Vivian Street, Bayou L'Ourse was arrested for Failure to appear for Non-Support. All three subjects are being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center awaiting bond to be set.
This matter remains under investigation and we do expect further drug related arrests to follow with respect to the above mentioned items found in the residence.
