Residential Burglary - Sheriff Seeks Public's Help - Saturday, August 13, 2011

On Wednesday, August 10, 2011 around 10:14 am, a resident returned home to find his back door was kicked in and noticed several items stolen. The residence is located at 260 Rue De Beauville in Plattenville. Items reported stolen include a 37 inch flat screen television, a playstation 3 with 3 wireless controls, a PSP game system, a 9mm Ruger P85 pistol, 2 graduation rings and other jewelry. The owner of the residence had left his home around 7:40 am to run a few errands and returned around 10:10 am to find his home burglarized.

Detectives are currently investigating this burglary and processing potential evidence but do not have any named suspects at this time. If you have any information or saw any suspicious activity on the above mentioned date, please contact Captain Darren Crochet with the Assumption Parish Criminal Investigative Division at 985-526-1627 or Communications Division at 985-369-2912. You may be entitled to a REWARD if the information you provide leads to an arrest.

In the meantime, we are asking that residents please take all necessary precautions when leaving your home. Please make sure your home and vehicles are locked securely at all times. If you have a security system, please activate it whenever you leave your residence. As well, if you have deadbolts, please utilize them.
