On 8/15/2011, Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to a stolen "low boy” trailer. The complainant stated that he left the trailer in the parking lot of Wag-A-Pak Truck Stop in Labadieville, LA. When he returned on Monday morning he noticed that the trailer was missing.
Our investigation has produced a person of interest in the case. Attached are pictures of the "person of interest” and the big rig he was driving. I have also enclosed a sample picture of type of truck used and the type of trailer stolen. The person of interest is described as a black male possibly in his late forties approximately 6 foot 2 inches tall or taller. He has a slim build with a heavy mid section. The person of interest was seen at the store on 8/12/2011 around midnight. The subject pumped diesel and then went to the rear of the property where the trailer was located.
The big rig truck is described as an approximately 2000 year model Peterbilt with a 63” sleeper birth. The truck is possibly black in color, with white writing on the door. The truck has a stainless steel drop visor on the windshield and stainless steel after market straight pipe exhaust system.
The trailer is described as a 1992 Trail King Extendable Double Drop "low boy”. The trailer is black in color with white steel rims. They also have five access doors on the rear of the trailer near the rear axles and displays "ARABI” mud flap on the rear right axle. The trailer should bear a Louisiana License Plate as follows: L387960
The complainant offers a $1,000 reward for the return of the trailer.
