Deputies Investigating 2 Related Home Invasions - Thursday, November 17, 2011
This morning around 5:50 a.m., a caller who resides at 5805 Highway 308, Plattenville, Louisiana, advised there was a black male banging on the door with a gun and he just entered their house after kicking in the front door. A second caller (a female victim) who resides at 5983 Highway 308 advised she and her family (2 children ages 3 and 6) were held hostage while they waited for her boyfriend to arrive at the residence. She stated that she was taped up with duct tape and had her cell phone taken from her and that this had occurred around 10 p.m. last night and they were held hostage until this morning. The suspects demanded she make contact with her boyfriend to come to the residence and he finally arrived around 5 a.m. He was then taken hostage and robbed of approximately $170.00 cash and hit on the forehead with what was said to be a 40 caliber hand gun. The second caller said the suspects eventually drove them this morning to her boyfriend's sister's house at 5805 Highway 308 in an attempt to rob them of any cash they had.
Our preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects appear to be 2 black males who were last scene by one of the victims leaving in a small, newer model light colored vehicle traveling north on Highway 308. The suspects were wearing masks and gloves when the home invasions took place and used duct tape to bind the arms and legs of the victims while demanding cash. Based on the preliminary findings, it appears the suspects knew the one of the female victim's (resident at 5983 Highway 308) work schedule and also knew where the male victim's sister lived which was the location of the second home invasion. Investigators believe that it is quite possible that the suspects know the victims and that the motive was to locate cash that the male hostage victim is known to have in his possession.
