On June 27, 2012, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office
received a complaint in reference to a drive-by shooting which had taken place
on Hwy 400 just south of Napoleonville,
LA. At the time of the shooting there were two
adults and five children inside of the home.
No one was injured as a result of the shooting. The caller attempted to pursue
the suspects until deputies arrived in the area. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was found
abandoned in the Village
of Napoleonville. The vehicle was impounded to be processed for
evidence. This vehicle was later
reported stolen from an elderly male.
The complainant was able to give a very good description of
the suspects. Along with the description
and evidence located at the scene, detectives were able to arrest a 16 year old
juvenile on Wednesday, July 5th and charge him with Assault by
Drive-by Shooting. He is currently being
held at the St. James youth center.
Detectives are still working on a positive identification
of the driver of the vehicle and this case remains under investigation.
