Crystal Meth Intercepted Before Delivery is Made - Monday, September 10, 2012

On September 7, 2012, a Narcotics Agent received a call from a confidential informant providing information concerning a white male driving an older model Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck who was bringing a large amount of crystal meth to sell in the Belle River area. Narcotic Agents and Patrol Units were conducting surveillance in the area and observed a subject in the described vehicle enter the Belle River Car Wash. Deputies pulled into the parking lot and approached the subject who began to use profanity towards the deputies. A Deputy asked for his identification and he refused. He was then ordered to place his hands on the vehicle to be patted down for officer safety. He refused and fled the vehicle on foot. He was apprehended after a short foot chase. While patting down the subject, deputies located a black bag with 5 individually wrapped clear bags which contained chunks of suspected crystal meth. The evidence was later weighed and found to be approximately 6 grams. After being read his "Miranda Rights” the suspect stated he would "take his lick” as he was "only bringing the crystal meth to sell to a friend.”

The suspect was later identified as Tommy D. Donati, II (W/M, age 30) of 2820 Second Street, Berwick, Louisiana. He has been booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center and charged with Possession with intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Resisting an Officer. His bond has not been set as of the time of this release.
