Pierre Part Man Arrested For 1 Count of 2nd Degree Battery - Thursday, January 2, 2014

Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that during the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 1, 2013, Teche Regional Medical Center contacted APSO Dispatchers received a call regarding a patient in the emergency room with a large laceration and an eye swollen shut stating that he had been involved in an altercation at T-Herm's Bar Lakeview Inn Bar located on South Bay Road in Pierre Part. He was then transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center where it was determined that he had a fractured eye socket, fractured nose, potentially fractured facial bones, and needed approximately four stitches above his right eye. Treatment is still forthcoming and he will need surgery for the injuries sustained during the altercation.

A detective was able to interview several witnesses to the incident who gave similar accounts as to that given by the victim. The victim, a 39 year old male from Pierre Part, was interviewed later that morning and photographs were taken of his injuries. All subjects interviewed identified Trey M. Hebert from a photo line-up as the person responsible for the battery. The investigators learned that the victim had bumped into Hebert while he was playing pool and making his final, 8 ball shot. A verbal altercation began followed up by the Victim being struck by Hebert numerous times in the facial area.

Trey M. Hebert, age 17, of 274 South Bay Road, was booked into the Assumption Detention Center on January 1, 2013, and charged with 1 Count of Second Degree Battery. His bond has not been set as of the time of this release.
