TERREBONNE PARISH PRESS RELEASE - Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on April 2, 2014, Wednesday morning at approximately 3:00 a.m. the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a murder that occurred at 3601 Thomas Dr. Apt. 2 Houma, La.

Deputies arrived at this location and learned that a 26 year old man had been shot in the head inside of the apartment.

Detectives obtained information that there was a knock at the apartment door. When the door was answered two masked black male suspects forced their way into the apartment. The victim and his girlfriend along with a small child were inside of the apartment. After the victim was shot in the head the suspects demanded that the girlfriend give them money. The suspects then exited the residence and the left the scene.

Acadian Ambulance transported the victim to the Terrebonne General Hospital before he was transported to an out of town hospital to seek further medical attention. The victim remains hospitalized with a very serious head injury.
