STOLEN FIREARM RECOVERED AFTER CHASE - Tuesday, June 3, 2014

BAYOU L’OURSE--- Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Friday, May 30, 2014 at approximately 7:20pm, the Assumption Parish Sheriffs Office received a 911 call in reference to a black SUV running off the road and knocking down mailboxes on Hwy 663 in Bayou L’Ourse. The deputy arrived and made contact with the caller who stated she was on the phone with an occupant of the black SUV and that they’d been run off the road and shot at. The caller also stated that State Police from Troop C had the suspect vehicle pulled over on Hwy 90.

The Trooper had detained all three subjects after performing a felony stop on the vehicle. A .40 caliber pistol was located underneath the front passenger seat. The firearms serial number was run and it came back stolen on May 12, 2014 from Belle Rose in Assumption Parish. Investigation determined that the three individuals had driven in from New Orleans to purchase a gun from Joshua Bougere. One suspect stated that during the transaction they began to fear an ambush so they rolled up the windows and drove off without paying. The four individuals selling the gun, Joshua Bougere, Dennis Bougere, Grant Walker and Steven Davis got in their vehicle and chased after them. The suspect stated that James fired two shots out of the window to get them to back off.

Joshua Bougere, B/M, age 20, Grant Walker, B/M, age 18, Steven Davis, W/M, age 37, who reside at 250 Murial Street, Morgan City, La, were booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center for LA RS 14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Joshua’s bond has been set at $5,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release. Grant’s and Steven’s bonds have been set at $10,000 and they are still in custody as of the time of this release. Dennis Bougere, B/M, age 19 who resides at 250 Murial Street, Morgan City, La, was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center for LA RS 14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm, LA RS 14:99 Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. His bond has been set at $5,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release. James Cole, B/M, age 19, who resides at 35 Judith Street, Waggaman, La, was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center for LA RS 14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm and 14:94 Illegal use of a Weapon. His bond has been set at $30,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release. Anthony Agnew, B/M, age 19, who resides at 520 Wall Blvd, Gretna, La, was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center for LA RS 14:67 Theft of a Firearm and LA RS 14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm. His bond has been set at $30,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release.
