STOLEN FIREARM ARREST - Wednesday, June 4, 2014

BELLE ROSE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Monday, May 12, 2014 at approximately 3:20pm, the Assumption Parish Sheriffs Office received a 911 call in reference to a residential burglary. Numerous items, including a handgun, were taken from the interior of the residence. During the course of the investigation, the stolen handgun was recovered on Friday, May 30. Our press release from June 3rd detailed the recovery of the handgun. The investigation uncovered that a Quention Steward, B/M, age 26 of 135 Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose was a suspect in the case. After questioning by detectives, Quention admitted to committing the burglary.

Quention Steward was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on June 2, 2014 for LA RS 14:62.2 Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling. His bond has been set at $30,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release.
