ALERT - WANTED PERSON - Friday, August 29, 2014

A man arrested on drug charges escaped police custody while being treated at the hospital, Morgan City police say.

Officers are searching for Jamison Dunigan, 39, after he escaped custody on Thursday. Police say he was able to remove all restraints while being treated at Teche Regional Emergency Room in Morgan City.

Police say that Dunigan was initially arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding warrants in Alabama.

The suspect has previous addresses in Atmore, Alabama; Shubutu, Mississippi; and 128 Agnes St., Pierre Part, Louisiana.

He is 5'10" tall, 155 lbs with brown hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts. He was spotted on the spillway side of the levee in the Atchafalaya basin.

Subject is wanted by the Morgan City Police Department for Simple Escape and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
