BELLE ROSE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack
reports that on Monday, September 8th, 2014 at approximately 1:30am,
the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about a female being
strangled. Deputies arrived and made
contact with the female subject and took her statement. While the deputy was speaking with the
complainant, Herman Knockum drove up and got out of his car. Herman Knockum, B/M age 48 of 237 Hwy 1003, Belle
Rose was interviewed about the incident after which deputies took photos of the
scene and the victim. Herman had driven
his car and followed the female subject walking down the road when she left the
residence. When he realized she was on
the phone with 911 he attempted to run her over before returning to the

Detention Center on September 8th, 2014 for LA RS 14:37.7 Domestic
Abuse Aggravated Assault, LA RS 14:35.3 Domestic Abuse Battery (strangulation),
LS RS 32:415 Driving under Suspended license.
