BELLE ROSE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack
reports that on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at approximately 4:20am,
Assumption Parish Dispatch received a call about an individual that had been shot
at 221 Hwy 998 (Belle Rose Lane). The
victim, Elvin Diggs, B/M age 34 from 221 Hwy 998 Belle Rose, was returning home
and was confronted by a male subject who pointed a gun at him. The victim was shot once in the back. He was airlifted to a hospital where he was
treated and released. The suspect is
described as a black male approximately 5’5” – 5’7” in height with a slender build
wearing black clothes and a red bandana. Anyone that may have seen any suspicious
activity between the hours of 3am and 5am Saturday morning are asked to contact
the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an
arrest.
