SUSPECT SOUGHT IN BURGLARY - Monday, September 22, 2014

PAINCOURTVILLE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Sunday, September 21st, 2014 at approximately 8:20am a call came in about a possible burglary at Sagona’s True Value Hardware store in Paincourtville. Upon investigation it was determined that the break-in occurred at approximately 11:25pm Saturday night. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’8” – 5”10”. He was wearing light blue jeans, brown hooded jacket and red ball cap. The suspect stole several handguns from the gun department section of the store. Anyone that may have seen the suspect possibly walking near the intersections of Highway 70 and Highway 308 and/or Highway 1 between 11pm and 12am is advised to contact the Sheriff’s Office. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting with this investigation. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
