HIGH SPEED CHASE YIELDS DRUGS - Wednesday, October 29, 2014

BELLE ROSE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that on Monday, October 27th, 2014 members of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a controlled buy/bust. Afterwards they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a dark colored Infiniti on Hwy 1 in Belle Rose. The vehicle was being driven by Landon Glaviana, W/M age 20 of 2269 Hwy 308, Donaldsonville. Glaviana attempted to flee at a high rate of speed towards Donaldsonville at times exceeding 100 mph. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified for assistance in their parish. The pursuit was terminated on Sagona Rd in Donaldsonville where the subject was taken into custody. The suspected synthetic marijuana from the buy/bust was recovered and a suspected synthetic marijuana cigarette was recovered from Glaviana.

Landon H. Glaviana was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on October 27th, 2014 for LRS 14:108.1 Aggravated Flight from an officer, LRS 40:966 Possession Schedule I CDS, Synthetic Marijuana, LRS 40:966 Distribution of Schedule I CDS, Synthetic Marijuana. His bond has been set at $25,739 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release.
