PLATTENVILLE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack
reports that on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 at approximately 4:30pm,
Assumption Parish Dispatch received a call from the Jubilee Convenience Store
located on Highway 70 Spur in Plattenville stating that someone had brandished
a handgun and made threatening statements.
The suspect, Larry Smith, B/M, age 24 of 2968 Hwy 1, Labadieville had
previously been banned from the store.
He entered the store with a young child and got into a verbal argument
with the store manager. During the
argument, Smith made threats of violence and raised his shirt to show that he
had a pistol. After leaving the store, Smith
placed the handgun into a truck belonging to Trey Lamar Adams, B/M, age 21 of
2941 Hwy 1, Labadieville. Both vehicles
left the store and were quickly located by responding deputies. The handgun, a Jimenez Arms 9mm semi-auto,
was recovered and determined to have been stolen out of Thibodaux, La.
Larry Smith was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention
Center on December 3rd, 2014 for LRS 14:40.1 Terrorizing, LRS 14:69.1
Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearm, LRS 14:95.1 Carrying of a Firearm by
Convicted Felon, LRS 14:63 Criminal Trespass, LRS 14:37.4 Aggravated Assault
with a Firearm. His bond has been set at
$70,000 and he is still in custody as of the time of this release. Trey Lamar Adams was booked in the Assumption
Parish Detention Center on December 3rd, 2014 for LRS 14:69.1
Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms, LRS 14:25 Accessory after the Fact. His bond has been set at $15,000 and he is
still in custody as of the time of this release.
