Waguespack reports that on Monday, March 9th, 2015 at approximately 6:00pm,
Assumption Parish Narcotics agents responded to the 3500 block of Highway 1 for
reports of shots being fired. Agents
made contact with Jayson Duet about the complaint of gun shots. He advised where the gun was located. Drug paraphernalia was observed near the
location of the weapon which was a .22 rifle.
When agents approached Mr. Duet he refused to cooperate and tossed a small
black hard plastic object into a boat. As
they attempted to take him into custody he resisted and attempted to walk

Hwy 1, Lot C, Napoleonville was taken to the ground and handcuffed. After being handcuffed, 14 rounds of .22 LR
ammo were located in his pocket. Crystal
methamphetamine was located inside the black object.
Jayson Duet was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention
Center on March 9th, 2015 for LRS 14:108 Resisting an officer (2
counts), LRS 14:95E Illegal Carrying of a weapon in the presence of a CDS, LRS
14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, LRS 14:91.13 Possession
of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile (2 counts), LRS 40:967 Possession of
Schedule II CDS (Crystal Methamphetamine)(2 counts), LRS 40:1023 Possession of
drug paraphernalia, and parish ordinance 93:16 Illegal discharge of a firearm. His bond
has been set at $40,633 and he is still in custody as of the time of this
