LABADIEVILLE--- Sheriff Mike Waguespack
reports that on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at approximately 8:30am,
the Assumption Parish Communications Division received a call from a Thibodaux
business in reference to a welfare concern on an employee who did not show up
for work. Responding officers made entry
into the house at 2702 Hwy 308, Labadieville and found the bodies of a husband
and wife and their dog. The Assumption
Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two Labadieville
residents as a murder/suicide who appear to have died from gunshot wounds. The deceased wife and husband were Leigh Richardson
Bourgeois, WF, age 42 and Jamie John Bourgeois, WM, age 42.
bodies are being transported by the Assumption Parish Coroner to the Orleans
Parish Coroner’s Office today for a full and complete autopsy scheduled to be
performed in the morning to determine the exact cause of death.
This is an ongoing investigation and Detective Captain Darren
Crochet is the lead investigator on this case.
