LABADIEVILLE --- Sheriff Mike Waguespack
reports that on Monday, October 26th, 2015 at approximately 5:30pm, Narcotics
agents initiated an investigatory stop on a vehicle after witnessing a
suspected drug transaction take place in the parking lot of a local
business. As a result of the stop,
Robert Meads, B/M, age 65 of 3005 Hwy 308, Labadieville was found to be in
possession of Crack Cocaine. The
investigation lead to a search warrant being issued for his residence at 3005
Hwy 308. As a result of the search
warrant approximately 12.2 grams of Crack Cocaine and a .38 caliber pistol were
located at the residence. Estimated
street value of the Crack Cocaine was approximately $3,000.
Robert Meads was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention
Center on October 26th, 2015 for 2 counts of LRS 40:967 Possession
with intent to distribute Schedule II (Crack Cocaine), LRS 14:26/40:967 Conspiracy
to Distribute Crack Cocaine, LRS 14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted
Felon, LRS14:95.E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a CDS. His bond has been set at $75,000 and he is
still in custody as of the time of this release.
