Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Speaks to St. Elizabeth Students

 

 

Captain Donnie Calamia spoke to the students at St. Elizabeth School on Wednesday night, April 26th, on behalf on the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.  Students, 5th thru 8th grade, attended the presentation about the hidden dangers of social networking. It addressed the advantages and disadvantages of social networking sites and covered sexting, child predators, sex offenders utilizing the network and numerous related subjects.  The course was designed for children, but parents as well should realize the lurking dangers of on line social network sites their children are able to come in contact with.

 

Captain Calamia hosted several similar events in the schools throughout the parish.

 

Sheriff Leland Falcon and Commander Lonny Cavalier attended the program as well.
