Child Identification Fingerprinting at Local Libraries - Friday, June 23, 2017

DATE:            FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2017
TO:                  ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
FROM:            SHERIFF LELAND FALCON

SUBJECT:      CHILD IDENTIFICATION FINGERPRINTS AT L0CAL LIBRARIES

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon’s staff was at area libraries and schools last week fingerprinting and preparing identification packets on children throughout the parish.

The purpose is to have all information necessary including photographs. In the event misfortune befalls a child, authorities would have all necessary information to act swiftly.

The program serves children ranging from pre-school to middle school youth.

The packets were prepared by Sheriff’s deputies during story time at local schools and libraries.  Once completed, the packets were given to the parents for safekeeping.

The program is not a single event and Sheriff Falcon hopes to continue the process for years to come.  The project was done in conjunction with the library board.
