Auto Burglary - Weapons Charges - Monday, June 26, 2017

SUBJECT:      AUTO BURGLARY / WEAPONS CHARGES – KENTRELL SANDERS

 

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kentrell Sanders, 36, of 5768 Highway 308, Plattenville, LA, on charges related to an April 22, 2017 burglary of a vehicle parked at a local business in which a firearm was stolen.

Detectives opened an extensive investigation into the matter in which evidence gathered led to the identity of Sanders as the suspect.  Detectives also discovered that Sanders was a convicted felon currently on probation.

Late Thursday, detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for Sanders’ residence.  Detectives, narcotics agents and uniformed patrol officers raided Sanders’ home and seized a quantity of marijuana.

Sanders was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:

            *Simple Burglary

            *Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

            *Possession of Marijuana

Sanders also faces a probation violation.  Sanders was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
