RASHAD MILLER
PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon
reports the arrest of Melvin Rashad Miller, 29, of 3277 Caesar Lane,
Donaldsonville, LA, on narcotics and gun related charges following a traffic
stop near Plattenville, LA.
A uniformed patrol division officer on a traffic stop observed
Miller passing in a vehicle smoking what appeared to be a marijuana blunt. The deputy detected the odor of marijuana, so
he stopped the Miller vehicle.
The deputy interviewed the driver identified as Miller
and as a result of that interview, deputies seized marijuana, assorted drug
paraphernalia and a loaded firearm.
Based on the seizure, Miller was arrested, transported to the Assumption
Parish Detention Center and booked on counts of:
*Possession
of Marijuana (Third and Subsequent Offense, Felony)
*Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal
Possession of Firearms in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
Miller was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
