NAPOLEONVILLE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of James Bell, 59, of 8513 Spruce Street, New Orleans, LA, in connection with an incident that occurred on May 14, 2017.

On that date, deputies responded to a complaint off of LA 401 near Napoleonville.  Deputies determined that a disturbance had occurred and at some point, someone was struck by a vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation, deputies interviewed witnesses and identified Bell as the driver of the vehicle and concluded that his actions were intentional.

Deputies secured arrest warrants at the time of the incident, but Bell had left the area.  Bell was located at a residence off of LA 401 on Tuesday and was taken into custody.

Bell was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on one count of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Bell was jailed pending a bond hearing.
