Sugarcane Grinding Season - Thursday, September 21, 2017

DATE:            THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2017
TO:                  ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
FROM:            SHERIFF LELAND FALCON
SUBJECT:      SUGARCANE GRINDING SEASON

ASSUMPTION It is that time of the year again!  The sugarcane grinding season will be underway very shortly.

With that, there will be all sorts of equipment, i.e. trucks, tractor trailers, cutters, etc. that will utilize public highways to get their product to the mills.

There will be times that the roadway will accumulate mud, especially during rainy periods.

While the sugarcane season is important to the local economy, safety is critical.  Therefore, we urge the motoring public to exercise caution during the season.

If you have children driving to school, please advise them accordingly.
