Theft of a Motor Vehicle - Wednesday, October 4, 2017

SUBJECT:      THEFT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE JOSEPH SHELBY DOZIER, II

 

ASSUMPTION Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joseph Shelby Dozier, II, on charges related to the theft of an automobile.  Dozier, 21, of 300 Ormond Village Drive, Destrehan, was also charged with failure to appear on drug related and traffic charges.

Detectives responded to a complaint on February 25, 2016 in which the complainant said that he had loaned the accused a car to conduct an errand and Dozier never returned the vehicle and in fact, left the Assumption Parish area and has remained a fugitive since.

Dozier was arrested on the afternoon of October 2, 2017.  Dozier was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Dozier was also booked on Failure to Appear warrants in Assumption Parish on charges of:

            *Possession of Marijuana and Synthetic Cannabinoids

            *Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign
