BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon
reports the arrest of Thomas Wayne Hughes, 29, of 270 Vivian Street, Bayou
L’Ourse, LA, on drug law violations after deputies attempted to execute an
arrest warrant at a Bayou L’Ourse home on Thursday.
Deputies arrived at the location and immediately
noticed Hughes mowing grass. Deputies
were attempting to arrest Hughes on a failure to appear warrant. As deputies approached Hughes, he began to run. A deputy was able to subdue Hughes and
following his arrest, deputies noted the seizure of methamphetamine and
assorted drug paraphernalia.
Thomas Wayne Hughes was placed under arrest,
transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:
of Drug Paraphernalia
for Failure to Appear
Hughes, at the time of Thursday’s arrest, was out on
bond for a June 29, 2016 arrest on charges of Obstructing Public Passages,
Possession of Schedule IV Narcotics and Resisting Arrest.
Hughes remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
