PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of            Cedric B. Johnson, 27, of 108 Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA, on a fugitive stop which resulted in a number of criminal charges on Thursday morning near Plattenville.

A deputy received information of a possible fugitive in the area near Plattenville.  The deputy observed a vehicle with expired temporary tags and believed the wanted person was the driver.

The officer executed a stop of the vehicle and through the process, was able to identify the driver as being Cedrick B. Johnson.  Johnson was interviewed and as a result, marijuana and a handgun was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

It was also determined that Johnson was wanted on charges for failure to appear for:

            *Disturbing the Peace

            *Theft

            *Domestic Abuse Battery

Johnson was placed under arrest, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:     

            *Failure to Appear

            *Misuse of Temporary Tag

            *No License Plate

            *Failure to Register Vehicle

            *No Driver’s License

            *Resisting Arrest

            *Possession of Marijuana

            *Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of controlled Dangerous Substances

Johnson was also booked on each of the failure to appear warrants.  Johnson was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
