SUBJECT: SECOND SUSPECT CHARGED IN GUN
INCIDENT AT ASSUMPTION HIGH
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland
Falcon reports a second arrest, that of a 15-year-old male tenth grader in
connection with Monday’s gun incident at Assumption High School.
Continued investigation by Sheriff’s deputies revealed
that at some point on Monday morning, the second suspect was in possession of
the first suspect’s book bag with full knowledge that at the time the book bag
contained a knife. The .22 caliber
handgun was not in the bag at that time.
The second suspect was interrogated in the presence of
a guardian and admitted to the allegation.
The 15-year-old male tenth grader was arrested and
booked on one count of Carrying a Firearm or Dangerous Weapon by a Student or
Non-Student on School Property.
He was released to the custody of a guardian pending
delinquent juvenile proceedings.
