Possession of Stolen Automobile / Attempted Disarming of Peace a Officer - Monday, October 23, 2017

SUBJECT:      POSSESSION OF STOLEN AUTOMOBILE / ATTEMPTED DISARMING OF A PEACE OFFICER – TIMOTY T. HUMPHREY

 

 

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Timothy T. 

Humphrey, 30, of 171 Village Lane, Morgan City, LA, on charges related to the theft of an

automobile and an investigative stop which occurred early Saturday morning.

 

A uniformed patrol deputy was notified by communications of an auto theft which occurred in

St. Martin Parish Saturday morning.

 

The patrol deputy set up at a vantage point near LA 70 in the vicinity of Veteran’s Park.  Shortly

thereafter the deputy observed a pick-up truck similar to the one reported stolen minutes earlier. 

The deputy got behind the pick-up truck at which time the pick-up truck pulled into a private

driveway.

 

The deputy proceeded to interview the driver later identified as Humphrey.  At some point,

Humphrey became aggressive and attempted to disarm the deputy.  The deputy immediately

tased Humphrey and was able to arrest him.

 

The pick-up truck was the same one stolen earlier in St. Martin Parish.

 

Humphrey was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Humphrey’s charges include:

                       

                        *No Driver’s License

                        *Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued over $1000

                        *Resisting an Officer

                        *Attempted Disarming of a Police Officer

 

Humphrey was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
