Drug Law Violation - Friday, November 3, 2017

SUBJECT:      DRUG LAW VIOLATION JUWAN JALEEL JOHNSON

 

BELLE ROSE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Juwan Jaleel Johnson, 24, of 114 Pugh Street, Paincourtville, LA, on narcotics related charges following a call for assistance early Thursday afternoon.

A deputy was dispatched to a location near Belle Rose after an individual identified as Juwan Jaleel Johnson requested assistance as he had locked his keys in his car.

The deputy was attempting to unlock the vehicle at which time he could smell an odor of fresh marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  The deputy was able to unlock the vehicle, then engaged in conversation with Johnson about the odor.

Johnson gave consent for the deputy to search the vehicle. As a result of that search, the deputy seized substantial quantities of marijuana, legend drugs, MDMA (Ecstasy) and assorted paraphernalia.  Deputies also seized a significant amount of U.S. currency.

Johnson was placed under arrest, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on counts of:

            *Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute

            *Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription

            *Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Ecstasy)

            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Johnson was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
