Multiple Shooting Incidents - Tuesday, December 12, 2017

TORIE TRAVONTAE LEWIS and TARIK DUPATY

 

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Torie Travontae Lewis, 17, of 108 Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA and Tarik Dupaty, 19, of 128 Dupaty Lane, Belle Rose, LA on charges related to two separate shooting incidents on December 7, 2017.

The first incident was on Daggs Street in Paincourtville, LA and the second incident was on LA 1 in Belle Rose, LA.  No one was injured in either incident.

Detectives conducted a thorough investigation which included interviewing of witnesses and victims.  Investigators developed information identifying Lewis and Dupaty as suspects. 

On December 7, the same day as the incidents, Sheriff’s office personnel located the suspect vehicle which was operated by Tarik Dupaty and attempted to stop the vehicle. Dupaty led deputies on a chase to near Sorrento at which time Dupaty stopped.  Dupaty was taken into custody, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

            *Aggravated Flight from an Officer

            *Resisting an Officer

            *Possession of Legend Drugs without a Prescription (3 Counts)

Bond on Dupaty was set at $16,000.

Lewis turned himself into the Detective Bureau in Labadieville.

While in the interview room, Lewis is accused of using items in the interview room to cause damage to the area.  Lewis attempted to take the items into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Based on investigators findings, Lewis was booked on counts of:

            *Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (2 Counts)

            *Theft

            *Simple Criminal Damage to Property

            *Taking Contraband into a Penal Institution

He was also booked on a warrant for Second Degree Battery.  Bond on Lewis was set at $13,000.
