Second Arrest in May Gun Incident - Tuesday, January 30, 2018

SUBJECT:      SECOND ARREST IN MAY GUN INCIDENT

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of James J. Johnson, Jr., 35, of 116 Palm Lane, Labadieville, LA, in connection with a May 14, 2017 gun incident near Napoleonville.

On May 14, 2017, deputies were dispatched to the Marshall Lane areas off of LA 401 in regards to a street fight.

Investigators interviewed a number of witnesses and were able to determine that one female had received minor injuries after being struck by a car during the confrontation.

At the time, deputies arrested James Bell, 59, of 8573 Spruce Street, New Orleans, LA, on felony charges.  Warrants were issued for the arrest of James J. Johnson.

Johnson was arrested on Monday, January 29, 2018 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

            *Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

            *Failure to Appear – Criminal Neglect

            *Failure to Appear – No Driver’s License

            *Warrant for Felony Theft

Johnson was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
