SUBJECT:      SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION VIOLATION – TONY D. COLAR, JR.

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tony Davis Colar, Jr., 47, of 172 Massey Lane, Belle Rose, LA, for failing to register as a sex offender.

The accused was convicted in Portland, Maine on charges of unlawful sexual contact, as well as sexual battery in Lafourche Parish.

Sex offender laws require that a violator report any change of address.  In Colar’s case, his probation officer made several attempts to visit Colar at the Massey Lane address and Colar was never home.

The probation officer contacted Assumption Parish and between the two agencies, several other visits were conducted, but again Colar was not there.

After conducting an investigation, Colar was arrested on Monday evening and booked on a charge of:

*Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

Colar was incarcerated at the Assumption Parish Detention Center awaiting a bond proceeding.
