Improper Storm Debris Removal - Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that he has increased enforcement efforts relating to illegal dumping on roadsides and on privately owned property including sugar cane fields. Anyone caught improperly disposing debris will be arrested and will face a fine and possibly jail time.
Anyone with woody debris should place it in the front of their property and it will be collected by disposal crews. All construction related debris, such as roofing materials, should be properly disposed of by contractors.
