The Arrest of Montague Washington (32) For Grisaffi Lane Rape - Saturday, November 08, 2008
Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports the arrest of a Belle Rose man in connection with the investigation of a burglary/rape that occurred on Tuesday, November 4th in the 100 Block of Grisaffi Lane in Belle Rose.
On Friday morning APSO Detectives received information that named Montague Washington, 32 years of age, of 6886 Highway 308 in Belle Rose as a potential suspect. Later that morning a uniformed deputy located Washington at his residence and asked him to come in for questioning. Washington agreed to do so and was transported to the Criminal Investigation Division in Labadieville. During questioning Washington admitted to being at the victim's residence on the date in question but denied raping her.
At the conclusion of the statement Washington was placed under arrest and transported to the APSO Detention Center where he was booked with one count of Aggravated Burglary and one count of Aggravated Rape. Washington remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing.
