This Saturday, March 1, 2025, marks the 19th anniversary of the tragic death of Sergeant Jeremy Newchurch while in the line of duty.

Sergeant Newchurch was fatally wounded while conducting a narcotics related investigation on March 1, 2006.

We thank Sergeant Newchurch for his contributions to the law-enforcement profession in Assumption Parish and for making the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our residents.

On Saturday, let’s pause for a few moments to show our appreciation to Sergeant Newchurch. Please say a prayer for Sergeant Newchurch and his family on this difficult day.
